If the sequencer echoes the Prophecy's MIDI OUT back to its MIDI IN, set GLB-8 [MIDI] → Local to OFF. This removes the direct keyboard path while the returned MIDI notes still play the sound engine.
Do this first
- Confirm your sequencer is echoing incoming notes back to the Prophecy.
- Open GLB-8 [MIDI] and set Local to OFF for this routed setup.
- Play a key and confirm one note sounds through the sequencer path. Restore Local to ON when using the keyboard without an echo path.
Diagnose it
Is MIDI echo or monitoring sending the keyboard notes back to the Prophecy?
Yes: Set Local to OFF in GLB-8 [MIDI].
No: Leave Local ON and inspect the sequencer's duplicate tracks or monitoring settings.
Expected result
One note sounds for each key press through the sequencer route.
Why this works
Korg specifically describes Local OFF as the way to avoid dual triggering when a sequencer echoes transmitted notes back.
