Bass Station II is not a USB-to-DIN MIDI interface. Use a separate interface for the computer-to-DIN route rather than expecting USB input to be forwarded through the synth.
Try these checks
- Test the computer’s USB MIDI track with Bass Station II itself.
- For another DIN instrument, connect a dedicated MIDI interface OUT to that instrument’s IN.
- Select that interface output in the computer’s MIDI track and match the receiving channel.
Diagnose it
Are you using Bass Station II as the computer’s DIN interface?
Yes: Use a dedicated interface instead.
No: Check the selected interface output and receiver channel.
What should happen
The second instrument receives computer MIDI through an interface designed for that route.
Why this happens
Novation explicitly distinguishes the instrument’s USB MIDI connection from USB-to-DIN interface operation.
If it still doesn’t work
Check the connections and settings described above. If your device behaves differently, email us with its model, firmware version and the steps you tried.
