Press Stop three times quickly to send All Notes Off. If the note returns, inspect the MIDI route and receiver rather than repeatedly sending the same sequence.
Try these checks
- Stop the sequence and press Stop three times quickly.
- Check whether the receiving instrument releases the note.
- Play and release one note with a single MIDI route; inspect duplicate routes if the problem returns.
Diagnose it
Does the receiver respond to All Notes Off?
Yes: Test one route before restoring the full setup.
No: Use the receiver’s own panic or note-release procedure.
What should happen
A receiver that supports All Notes Off releases notes on the affected MIDI path.
Why this happens
KeyStep’s Stop-button shortcut sends All Notes Off; receiver behavior still depends on the connected instrument.
If it still doesn’t work
Check the connections and settings described above. If your device behaves differently, email us with its model, firmware version and the steps you tried.
