Do this first
- Before power-off, go to the MPC500 save/load workflow.
- Save the current work to the intended storage destination.
- Confirm the saved file is present before shutting down when the work matters.
Diagnose it
Was the session explicitly saved before power-off?
Yes: Check that you loaded the intended storage location and project on restart.
No: The MPC500 does not retain entered data and audio after shutdown unless it has been saved.
Expected result
The saved work is available to load after the MPC500 restarts.
Why this works
The official quick-start guide expressly warns that data and audio are deleted at power-off unless saved.
