Clock source
Manufacturer documentedThe rear sync switches select Internal, USB, MIDI or Sync In. Use the printed diagram rather than guessing the switch positions. Internal is the standalone choice; the other modes need an appropriate incoming clock.
While following an external clock, the Rate knob does not set the running tempo. KeyStep can forward clock to its other outputs.
Channels and hanging notes
Manufacturer documentedHold Shift and press a key marked with the desired MIDI channel to set the transmitting channel. Match that channel to your sound module. Keyboard Play can have a separate channel.
Three quick presses of Stop send All Notes Off. This is a useful recovery step when a connected instrument keeps sounding after you release the keys.
