Sync and transport

UTILITY:SYNC/TEMPO provides TempoSync choices AUTO, MIDI, USB and INT. AUTO follows incoming MIDI clock at MIDI IN or USB, with USB taking priority when both arrive. MIDI follows MIDI IN, USB follows USB, and INT uses the TR-8S tempo.

Sync Out controls transmission of clock, Start and Stop. RxStartStop determines whether external start/stop controls the step sequencer when following external MIDI clock.

Channels, notes and routing

UTILITY:MIDI holds Pattern Ch, Kit Ch, Omni Mode, programmable instrument note numbers, Soft Thru, USB MIDI Thru and Program Change transmit/receive settings. Do not assume fixed drum-note assignments: the implementation chart states that instrument note numbers are configurable.

The version-3 MIDI chart lists default channel 10, configurable channels 1–16 or OFF, Program Change transmitted and recognized from 0–127, and clock, Start and Stop as transmitted and recognized.
