Clock and pad control

In SYSTEM → MIDI, MIDI Sync can follow Auto, Internal, MIDI or USB. Roland’s support instructions state that MIDI follows clock at MIDI IN, USB follows USB clock, and MIDI Sync Out ON sends clock, Start and Stop at MIDI OUT.

External sample triggering requires the intended MIDI Mode. Mode A uses a separate channel for each bank A–J; Mode B uses channel 1 for banks A–E and channel 2 for banks F–J. Roland directs users to the Reference Manual MIDI note map for exact pad notes.
