MIDI channel and clock

The original microKORG exchanges MIDI on its global MIDI channel. Match the connected sender or receiver to that channel before diagnosing notes or program changes.

For tempo-based functions such as the arpeggiator, the manual documents Internal, External and Auto clock behavior. External follows incoming MIDI clock; Auto follows external clock when it is received and otherwise uses the internal clock.

Data transfer boundary

The manual documents dumps for one program, all programs, global data and all data. Receiving a dump requires Write Protect OFF and the System Exclusive MIDI filter enabled.

Korg notes that some USB-MIDI interfaces may not transmit or receive System Exclusive correctly. Treat an interface limitation as a possibility rather than changing or losing data repeatedly.
